The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Databricks Developer for one of our clients who would be responsible for the development and implementation of data engineering solutions using Databricks. You are a perfect candidate if you are growth-oriented, you love what you do, and you enjoy working on new ideas to develop exciting products.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Databricks Developer with a strong portfolio of successful big data projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Apache Spark, Databricks, and data engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in Scala, Python, or other relevant programming languages for Spark development.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Databricks Development: Design, develop, and optimise data processing workflows and analytics solutions using Databricks.
  • Leverage Apache Spark within Databricks to implement data transformations, aggregations, and machine learning workflows.
  • Build robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data from various sources.
  • Configure and manage Databricks clusters to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimise Spark jobs, and implement best practices to enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with other development teams to integrate Databricks-based solutions with existing systems and applications.
  • Implement security measures and best practices to protect sensitive data processed within Databricks.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address issues within Databricks environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and best practices for Databricks development and administration.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior developers and team members, sharing your expertise in Databricks development.
