What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of dedicated experience as a PostgreSQL Developer or in a similar role.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL database administration, optimization, and maintenance.
- Solid understanding of database design principles and normalisation.
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas using PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration between the application and the PostgreSQL database.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
- Develop and implement database standards and best practices.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in PostgreSQL database systems.
- Optimise queries and database configurations for improved efficiency and responsiveness.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and monitoring.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data.
