I'm based in Brazil. I started programming in HTML and C# around 2007, and then more recently, around 2015, I migrated to being a full-stack python developer. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in administration, with my favorite subjects being finance and mathematical modeling. I'm currently working on my post-grad in applied statistics.

Back in 2008, during the global recession, there were many different things in software development I wanted to try out, and I noticed that so much of it could be automated, made faster, and more accurate. It was then that I found myself focusing on learning how to program with small scripts, trying to mod games, and making small programs.

When my coding became more fluent, I started receiving odd jobs to help people with their code. And as I looked through their code, I noticed how hard it was to read and find documentation. However, every time I finished my part of the project, I remember receiving several e-mails from other programmers, mainly congratulating me on having such lean and easy-learn code and documentation. So, getting this feedback from colleagues in the same industry, who had been around longer than me, made it clear I had a knack for programming. Sometimes they gave me tips to improve as well. I just needed to practice more and continue to challenge my knowledge.

I've always been keen on understanding coding conventions since the early days of my career as a developer. Methods like indentations, grouping, proper syntax and reduced nesting are crucial to me. I was learning from well-known bad practices adopted by other coders, and I started adjusting how I coded to make my work more accessible, readable, and quickly understandable for other developers. I also love challenges. One of the biggest tasks I came across was a Machine Learning work project. ML code is generally heavy, and I had a stream of images (video) coming in. At that time, we were constantly looking for ways to increase the performance of our code. We looked at filters, calculus, and other ways to shorten and decrease the load. In the end, we got an excellent result that the customer was satisfied with. I was exhausted for a week afterward!

I joined Proxify in the third quarter of 2022. I saw some ads on the internet and decided to sign up and complete the tests. Thanks to Proxify I have one large client for whom I’m working on a part-time schedule. Since my client is a large international organization, I have been talking to professionals based in Los Angeles, Rotterdam, and Singapore. The project involves heavy data gathering and analysis, which has been quite a challenge when it comes to transforming complex data into actionable intelligence and recommendations. I love it! There is just so much of it that I like: the pace, people and the challenge. It's a perfect all-around project for someone like me to work on. The project will bring a positive impact on the industry. We are part of the leading edge for the technology used. Only a few other companies play with the limits met when working directly with such a significant data range and so in-depth.

And Proxify is fantastic. They are experts at matching the right client with the right developer. When they matched me up with the client, we had meetings about the engagement's scope, specifications, and how we would communicate. When meeting with the client for the first time, I also talked to one of the recruiters at Proxify, and we chatted about how everything worked. My manager from Proxify made sure everything was clear as possible and truly helped me bring my best to the table. Before joining Proxify, work was less frequent and more volatile. I would work for several clients, each one different from the previous one I worked for. The variety was great, but the selection of clients from Proxify and the matching process got me higher-quality jobs and overall better work. Additionally, the idea of working remotely has always attracted me. I am a self-learner and like to find my own pace. I feel more comfortable when I use my equipment at home because I know exactly how it's all set. I can make changes that better suit my work style and necessities. I find myself more efficient without worrying about how my approach might affect my colleagues or teammates.

There are a lot of talented developers in Proxify's network. It's good because it keeps me on my toes, keeping up to date with what is going on to avoid complacency. Joining Proxify has been, without a doubt, the most positive thing I have done regarding my career development. The excellent matching process Proxify offers, and the easy and safe payment terms make it hard for me to leave their network. Proxify simply works.

My advice for new developers is the following: write code, work on something completely different, and then return to it. How well can you read it? Does it make sense? Have you learned something new or a better implementation? I've found that the best way to compare my progress is to look at my latest and oldest code. Practicing is very important, and the cycle of going back and forth on your work can make you feel proud for how far you've come and all the lessons learned. Keep coding, don't be afraid to scrap, and the only limit will be your mind.
